Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

As the porting of MMM (Micromite Mega on the PIC32MZ chip) comes closer to completion now, I wanted to share my little new board with a 64-pin PIC32MZ/EF chip on it. Basically the board is very little more than a holder for the chip plus a few passive components and the oscillator. It copies exactly the pinout of the IC itself, which is very useful during development.
I have no commercial plans for this one yet, at least until the software is done, but in case anyone needs one, let me know.

Very clever placement of the USB socket.

Does that 64-pin MZ/EF also use 0.4mm pitch?
It looks larger then that in the photo, but the photo is blown up......

It is a standard 0.5mm pitch TQFP just like MX470. The board is 5x5cm

Hi Kiiid,

Another very well thought out design, I too like the USB on the angle, good lateral thinking.

How does the hardware compare with the MZ and MX chips? Could this board be used with an MX chip to work with the MMBasic for the 64pin 470?

Kind Regards,

Mick
