Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.
Hi, I'm a newbie here, and this is my first post so I'm just feeling my feet at the moment.
As an Electronics Engineer I started many many years ago on the Fairchild F8 then 6502/Z80/8051/6805 in assembler/basic/Pascal and then C (never C++) and of course CPM/DOS etc but have not done any real coding for over 20 years but I've decided I need to wake up the grey matter now I'm close to retirement.
So here I am contemplating the arrival of my Micromite LCD BackPack with a Kitchen Timer project in mind to get me started (slowly).
I've been reading the MMBasic manual (I'm impressed with its features) and wondered what happened to the SELECT CASE command? The Micromite User Manual Ver 5.2 shows it but I couldn't find it in the latest MMBasic Language Manual V4.5.
For the timer I plan to use a state machine and I used to use the Switch/Case in C to change states.
Am I missing something?

Hey Hendo..!
Welcome to the forum... You will find many good people here to help you along the way.. I think you will really like the MicroMite MCU's.. Much power and versatile options await inside this micro thanks to Geoff and many others here on TBS... A good selection of "ready to go" PCB's too..!!
Like yourself, I too are getting to retirement age and started out very much along the same path you described... You will love the ease of use and many things this platform provides..!! Not "tool chain" 4 minute code changes junk.. Editing is quick and easy, and the MCU's are fast..!
Do keep us informed of you projects/progress/problems along the way...
MM's Kick Butt..!! And YES there is a SELECT CASE command Edited by Zonker 2016-10-02
Thanks Jman and Zonker. I appreciate your help. I see there is a lot of good work out there and am looking forward to joining the fray. Wish the damned postie would hurry up!
