Is the Micromite suite likely to include a SPI client ability in future ? |

Do you mean slave? No, I have never heard of that need. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

I thought of making some modules that could be used as a SPI device but after testing that for a while i preferred to use I2C instead. In all MY cases I2C is fast enough and also has the bonus of only using two pins. Microblocks. Build with logic. |

Yes sorry I meant slave, just asking as it has a promise at increasing connectivity. I have an arduino slave working but it is a bit limited . |

because of the (potential) speeds involved, I am guessing the hardware would have to support this mode. I don't have access to the datasheet atm but it would be a very tall order to emulate 10MHz bus in software. That said, I agree it would definitely add another feather to the uM's cap - I currently have no use for it but in multi-micromite devices it would open up a new world of de-centralised control. I have done this on a very small scale using CSub Serial ports but SPI is cleaner |
