Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I bought half a dozen when you posted that link Mick. Couldn't get the first one to work then found it had a dry joint to the battery. Fixed that and up it came but only for a few days and then the battery died. About half of them had stuffed batteries but the others were OK - still good though in that they're really cheap and tiny. Pity that the pin-out is a bit different but as you say it's easy to change.

Are they working Grogster ?
If the battery is spot-welded in, they are probably meant as throw-aways anyway. I guess the question becomes, how much confidence can you now have, that they will keep functioning or how accurate they will be.

The tabs are spot-welded onto the battery and the tabs then soldered to the PCB. Similar arrangement of tabs to CaptainB's link except the +ve tab has a double right angle bend so that it extends down alongside the -ve tab to solder to the PCB pad. At a pinch CaptainB's could be soldered to the same position as these without a small link.

The batteries on the ones I got from Mick's link had CR1025 buttons, not CR1220's but the CR1220's would probably fit; there might be a very small PCB overlap.

@ chronic - Yes, the new ones seem to be working fine - time included. I have used these ones before, and had no problems, so this thread was a new one to me. Again, you can't expect too much with the clones - if anything reliable at all. As mentioned, I suppose I could extract the clone and put a genuine Dallas chip on the module if I wanted to be really sure.

Hi Grogster and All

I have just had the same problem. Did a search on TBS and found your post.
Can you give me the site from which you purchased the good ones. I don't want to purchase more of the same.

Thanks Grogster.

Couldn't see for looking.

Did it really take 30-50 days? Seems a bit slack.
I noticed it doesn't have the pin outs labelled.

Found it on a Bigmik post.

30-50 days - not sure. I've had a quick scan through this thread, but can't see where I reference that kind of delay. Some things do indeed take ages to arrive. eBay is notorious for that. I prefer AliExpress these days, as they seem to be much faster on the whole.
