Has anyone had any experience with this sort of Ultrasonic Sensor Integrated Transceiver Waterproof Diameter 16MM 40KHz Want to know more about circuits using units for transmitter and receiver like the ones where there are 3 or 4 in car a bumper warning system. They look like this: ![]() |

Not these specific units but I have played with a number of "conversion kits" from the likes of ebay. They are generally *very* poor and from what I can deduce suffer terribly from scatter/false echo. This I have pinned down to free-running transducers (instead of individually triggered) so Transducer B can never tell whether it is seeing a genuine echo (i.e. from itself) or a late return/scatter from the road surface from transducer A and so on... I played with a solution involving individually triggering the transducers but found it very difficult to source the traditional devices - everywhere seem to have gone over to these smart modules that are free-running and output a serial data stream with a direct reading of distance - fine if it is the only thing in the area, but two or more just serve to confuse each other. I never got round to finishing the work as it got over-taken by other things. I fully intend to do some more in-depth stuff and find a fix. There was a thread on here a while back #where I detailed the findings but I'll be stumped if I can find it ATM. |
