What a great little module these are thanks to Robert.Rozee for the design and Grogster for the PCB and of course Geoff. Should be called the MitE-28. I am using one in the Snowman chistmas light feature see this post SNOWMAN I am also using one to upgrade a hand held GPS that I built some years ago that was still using the Nokia phone screen. +1. I have a few of the E-28's and find them excellent! From a nice little package for prototyping to a handy little all in one for finished projects, they can't be beat! I actually prefer to use an E-28, than to piss fart around with the IC, caps, VR, etc separately. I'm in the throws of creating a program to replicate the 8 program Multi-Function-Controller IC found on those store-bought strings of christmas lights to replace a few defective ones...... GTG! ...... Don't worry mate, it'll be GoodToGo! |

The E28 was Rob's idea.(robert.rozee) I helped by designing the PCB's, but I want to be clear: This is ROB'S puppy. ![]() I can't speak for Rob, but I am absolutely delighted if anyone likes the module, and finds it useful. I have to be honest, and say that I myself have used the E28 module as the basis of a few ideas, simply cos it is something of a turn-key approach to a task. Smoke makes things work. +1 on the power and ease of use of the (Mit-)E-28. This should be bumped every once in a while so that newcomers may be advised of its availability. Thanks to those who made it happen. PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

To be really clear: It has been done before. Around april 2016. http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8318&KW=microblocks&PN=1&TPN=3 But the same as with using the pic16f1454 as a serial/usb AND programmer ideas are there to be taken. (Two board members are very good at that). Not you Grog!! You always credit your inspirations. I made a lot of those for my makerspace at that moment and got at least a hundred people enthusiastic about the uMite. Unfortunately when something hits the internet it is being copied and offered for peanuts, so it was unsustainable very quickly. I hoped i just got my money back as lots of it was put into it. My enthousiasm was slowly but surely vanishing. So instead of continuing i just stopped publishing schematics and layouts. Microblocks. Build with logic. |

@ lizby That was a typo on my part I meant (mighty) Mite-E-28. Paul "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |
