Hi all ![]() Where can I find the latest specs for the MMX? Chip type, current pin-out assignments etc for the 100-pin chip. There are posts and threads all over the forum, but it could take me ages to find the relevant information, as the MMX has been in development for a while now.... Quick Question: I don't suppose the MMX and the MM+ 100-pin chips are pin-compatible ON THE POWER SUPPLY PINS ONLY? I need a pinout to check this for myself, but I expect someone will know the answer to that pretty quickly. ![]() EDIT: Nevermind. Found the manual at this thread. I assume this is the most current one, as it is on the most recent release of the MMX firmware. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Grogster, what are you going to make? |

Hahaha! Nothing confirmed, I just feel my PCB layout hairs twitching on an idea. Far to early to say anything more, and it is not an exciting layout, but thanks for asking! Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Maybe a PIC32MZDA board? Or a board with something novel - more RAM? (Yeah, not exactly novel.) Otherwise I'm wondering what would be useful? (If not graphics, not RAM, maybe easier to solder or cheaper or - well, something?) Microchip pricing is not good for the raw chips and is terrible for their dev boards so anything you can do to help people get good results overall may be much appreciated. Single-sided / double-sided... I'm guessing that for most people size is less of an issue than ability to populate/solder the thing. Price must matter a bit or everyone would use RPi boards. (Though power dissipated by an PIC32MZ has got to be hugely lower than Rpi, but isn't the PIC32MX good enough...) (BTW matherp's boards look good to my untrained eye. Borrow all their good points.) Low power yet with WiFi / BT / ...? Just some random thoughts. John |
