Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I ran across an old project while cleaning up my shop. It was the basic chip interfaced to a propeller chip to handle the video and sound chores. It still works ok , but has the old 4.5ver software on the mm basic chip. Will the newer versions still talk to this project? If so , I will reprogram the chip for all the new features and use this thing again.

Probably your chip is a PIC32MX150F128. Later versions of MMBasic (V5 and up) require a member of the MX170 or MX470 family of chips.

So, no, you cannot load the latest on that.

The MicroMite Companion that you found is compatible with both the MX150 and MX170.

Have a look at which PIC chip you have, and IF it is the MX170 then you can load the latest MMBASIC. However, if it is the MX150 then I recommend grabbing a MX170 and swapping it over. You will need to load MMBASIC onto the chip - best get a MicroBridge IF you do not have a PicKit3.
