Am I the only one seeing this? Pages 61-64 are not in the magazine, and are missing....... ![]() Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

All mine are missing, I cancelled my subscription. For me, except for Geoff's articles, the mag was getting boring. I subscibe to the on line versions of Nuts & Volts and Diyode but rarely bother to read them. Paul "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

Are pages 41-44 also missing? The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

@ Gizmo: YES! Pages 41-44 are also missing. I just wanted to read about the (practically useless) AM transmitter, but then could not find the beginning of the article. For a start, I was sure I had drunk too much, but after many checks, I found they were indeed missing! An AM transmitter with only a few meters range is why I said it was practically useless above, but I was interested in reading the article. I had not read through the rest of the issue, so had not come across the missing 41-44 pages yet. To be fair to SC, this may not have been their fault. It might have been a printing problem, in which case you can't blame SC for that. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Yeah the printers would be to blame, missed 2 leaves. Maybe SC could offer to put the magazine PDF on line for free to compensate. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

I have rung my local Jaycar, which is where I pick up my SC magazine, and told them what I have found, and they grabbed a copy from their counter and confirmed that theirs are all like that too - so they have pulled all copies off the counter. They said they would contact their SC rep about it, and I said I fully expect that he/she knows all about this problem by now, and should offer reprinted copies. This kind of thing does not happen often, so is something of a rarity. ![]() I cannot EVER remember when a SC issue missed pages before, so this might be a first. Smoke makes things work. Have just purchased my copy from the local newsagent but checked first to make sure all the pages were there. They were. |

Mine was a subscriber copy and they are all there. I guess it must have happened during the print run and they didn't pick it up at the print house.... There will be blood. |

@ Grogster I have one that was published in SC many years ago. I use it to transmit old radio shows that I have to my vintage valve radios. Paul. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

Just had a look at the SC web site. The AM radio transmitter is a rehashed version of the one I built from the Jan 2006 issue, even has the same front panel artwork except my one has the words 'Little Jim' above AM Transmitter. OH! and surprise surprise another Motor Speed Controller. No wonder I cancelled. Paul. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

Yes, my thoughts as well. The editorial does describe some of the problems they have in coming up with projects though. Chopperp ChopperP |

Yes I realise it would be difficult to come up with new projects. When I had the SC web site open I clicked on the article then right clicked and selected 'View Page Source' it then let me read the entire article. I then got my Jan 2006 copy out and the project is almost word for word the same. But I guess after 12 years it is worth reprinting. Paul. I could think of a heap of projects they could take on. Hobby stuff, and without a micro controller or surface mount. Grass roots. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Perhaps they think the grass-roots stuff is TOO simple, and no-one would buy the magazine as there was not enough flashy go-faster projects like the MM with touch-screens etc? It must be really hard to run a printed magazine these days..... Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
