I've been through this before, but forgotten.....

Mmbasic opens (sorta),but I get the screen above scrolling down fast.
I have :
folder named basic in /pi/home/ with mmbasic inside
mmbasic permissions changed to anyone
pgio thing installed

have you delete file "options" .it is an hidden file in same folder than mmbasic exec

Make sure there are no other versions of mmbasic still running (reboot).

Don't use/run the pigpio daemon. make sure it isn't running

run mmbasic with sudo (sudo ./mmbasic)

The "sudo" did it.
So far cannot write to Timidity,
but I'll try some more.
