Whenever an LCD screen is NOT connected, the USB console terminal does not work??
No USB device detected by Windows 10.

Everything else works fine.

Any ideas as I prefer to use the USB console rather than attaching a USB-ttl all the time.

The Micromite eXtreme does not support a USB console at all. The USB port is used as host for a USB keyboard. Very early versions did have support but no longer as the keyboard was considered more useful given the limitations of the USB console resetting the link whenever the Micromite was reset

I think he means the 1455 USB console interface thing and it's associated USB socket, NOT the USB-A on the board for the USB keyboard. I think he is saying that the normal console via the 1455 and USB to the PC, is dropping off when there is no LCD, which is odd.....

Thanks Peter,
That answers my query.
Any thoughts on adding USB memory stick file storage similar to the sdcard capability?

Hi Peter,

My MZ 144 board running 5.04.17 and with no LCD connected still has console support via the 1455 and I for one would certainly like to have that access going forward. I do realise you could have a USB to serial module and access that way but it seems a waste to have the 1455 for programming and not be able to use it also as the console connection?

Doug.

I interpreted the question (and I think this is confirmed by HardingJohn's follow up) to relate to the MMX's own USB connection. Like the MM+ early releases of the MMX firmware did support a USB CDC client connection.

Later releases removed this capability and replaced it with a USB HID host capability.

This is all completely unrelated to the pic16F1455 which provides a CDC connection and programming capability
