Here is the board that I designed for David. This is the Sensor.Engine:MICRO and the idea behind this board is to make a MicroMite aimed at STEM education and hobby experimentation.



This is a 28 pin MM. Most pins are available on the top edge. The top edge can be populated with pins pointed upward:



Pins up makes it easy to use female "Dupont" jumpers. Like these:

Pins down can also be dropped onto a sea-of-holes prototype board:

The goal is to make it easy to make sensor projects out of the 37 sensor kits:

The display is 64x128 I2C. Driver is already loaded into the library space.

The interface is via USB, and the console lines are still available.

There is an analog reference onboard.

Top row pinout:



Bottom row is all ground.

Middle row is called "common" and can be jumpered to 3.3V or 5.0V or externally to a voltage.

SD card is push-in and push-out. SD card can be used to log data. The basic file routines are in the library flash.

Three buttons round out the hardware.

Very nice design.

Since many of the "37-sensor" modules have the pinout "-", "+", "S" (for "Signal", I guess), if a portion of the 3-row section had female headers soldered in, some sensors could be plugged in directly (end-user option). (Or one could use the female "long-pin" headers so that either module plug-in or breadboard could be used.)

I like the breadboard option--plug I/O pin row directly into the breadboard and jumper 5V (or 3V3) and 0V.

If I were to make any suggestion, it would be to move the alternate power pins over a bit and add a pair of power pins to fit directly into a breadboard (the kind with + and - both on each side). (Although those pins could also go anywhere between the regulator and the MM.)

All in all, I think MM + 37-sensors is a very good concept.

I see what you are saying about the power pins. There are breadboards with different spacings out to the solderless power rails, some with one row, some two. Also, would it be for 5V or 3.3V?

This type would be my preference for breadboard.



Perhaps a jumper to select either 3V3 or 5V would be good.

MB-102 830 points.

very popular/common format - Search ebay for MB102 and look at the masses of stuff that comes back. A lot are from Chinese manufacturers and can be a bit stiff to insert wires, but they are cheap and plentiful.
