This one is more custom-built for a specific function, and I wanted the board to be as small as possible, maintaining two-layer. The board is 54mm square. That was mainly decided by the length of the 40-way connector on the LCD and it's matching socket.

It is an Explore-64 with an on-board 1455 USB interface and HC-12 RF module. The board has no on-board voltage regulation, just a couple of decoupling caps and 100n's for HF bypassing. It is designed to be connected via a short 3-way lead to a PSU board, which is not shown here. The LCD module's SD card socket is used rather then one on the MM+ module, due to lack of space on that board. The two mounting holes are designed to use self-adhesive PCB stand-off's, but I have found it is pretty much self-supporting on the 40-pin header, so the stand-off's probably won't be used.

The little 2x5 female header at top left of the board, is a 1.27mm pitch socket with ten extra MM+ pins on it, including PWM and I2C, but mostly just allowing some extra I/O for me to add things later without having to produce more boards.

"MPD 1A" is short for "Mimic Panel Display", and that is it's primary purpose(showing messages received on the HC-12 module), but it would perhaps be useful for other things where space is a concern, but that you still wanted to use a parallel LCD with it's full feature set. This board would work on any of the parallel 4", 5" or 7" displays that use the standard pinout that the MM+/MMx/ARMmite have adopted.

Grogster. Another great design, well done. I assume this will nicely fit your dual display indicator panel requirement and allow even more flexibility and options.
