Do you have the manuals? If not go to Geoff's web site

It needs the backlight enabled,
PWM 2, 1000, 50

Then
OPTION LCDPANEL ILI934I, L, 2, 23, 29
OPTION TOUCH 1, 3

Cheers.

@palcal.

Normally you would RTFM first but SC changed a few connections around which can be / is confusing so the setup in the manual is a bit different.

SC, Nov 2016 has the correct set up which is what Phil23 has kindly indicated.

Thanks for the question 2001cpx & the reply Phil23 because I was only thinking the other day as to what the setup was for the MM+64.

Must write it in my programs as a comment so I do have to go looking for the setup again.

My SC + Explore 64 had the FETS as part of the kit & should have been fitted when you built your kit. (Then again, I could be wrong)

Using PWM 2, 1000, 50 will bring the backlight on. No extra wiring required

Hi 2001cpx

OK, I was wondering if that may have been the case.

What did you actually do to bring the backlight on? A series resistor?

The SC Explore 64+BP has an option to load either PWM drive or Trimpot resistor divider.

@Azure

In the RH column on page 65 it says that VR1 has been deleted from this unit & Mosfets used instead to control the TFT backlighting.

Easy enough to use an external pot instead of the Mosfets though if you don't want the lighting software controlled.

You are quite right. I was thinking of the SC MM V2 Backpack, my mistake. I just double checked both articles to make sure I didn't also recall that incorrectly.

I had to triple check that I had my facts straight before posting.

We are spoilt for choices with the 'Mites etc. Started going some of the SC 'Mite articles from around that period. Interesting reading. A lot to learn & so much to forget!!!

I have been getting all the PCB's and parts to build most of the SC MM based projects. Problem for me at the moment is a lot of interruptions and other work that have priority which I have to address before I can dedicate some decent time into MM things.

New Accurate Freq Ref project using MM Backpack in this months issue will be added when it's PCB becomes available.

Then there are so many great things TBS members have built that I want to look into more on TBS.

@Chopperp

Backlight,direct 3.3v on pin Led.
surely better contrast with resistor.

@2001cpx

OK thanks. Just tried mine at 100%. Not that much different from 50%. Still playing. Readable at 10% as well.
