I came across something today that may be of use to others ...

In schematic diagrams that Peter puts up for his projects in .pdf form, if you mouse over any component then right click, it will bring up a window with Attributes as an option. Clicking on the attributes option will bring up a window with details about the part.

Importantly, in most cases it will give an rs.components part number which you can either order or use as a starting point if looking for an alternative part.
(I assume this is a result of using DesignSpark as the design program).
