Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I was very disappointed to get two Mega's from Mouser and find the Colour Maxmite
programming editor missing. I bought yet another CGColourMaxmite to use for the
project.

I first tried to use ThunderBird on Linux to buy it and it was very, very difficult.
I gave up and had a friend with a so called smart phone purchase it
for me. There was no phone number or email address at CG to get help.

I have used TB on Linux for about 25 years and it is great.

I thought ThunderBird was for email.

What would be the steps to reproduce the problem?

Howdy. Welcome to the forums.

Most of what you have posted is confusing.

Please define "Mega's"
If you mean Arduino Megas(or MEGA-8 chips), then the MMBASIC interpreter will never run on that, as it is different hardware. The Micromite or Colour Maximite firmware only runs on select PIC32 processor chips, not Arduinos.
I first tried to use ThunderBird on Linux to buy it and it was very, very difficult.
Huh?
The Micromite or Maximite firmware is free, you don't have to buy it. While I and other members run sites where you CAN buy Micromite/Maximite based stuff, you don't have to do it via email, you just order direct from the site.

I assume by "CG" you mean CircuitGizmoes? His contact details are easily found on his contact page.

From the thread title I think he means Duinomite Mega.

And I think by "buy it" he meant "buy the CGColourMaxmite".

Still confused about TB and why not use the Contact page though!!

I'm having difficulty understanding, too.

Mouser sells the Duinomite-mega But it is missing a color editor? The duinomite is monochrome, isn't it?

Yes runs the latest Duinomite version of MMBasic v4.5 that was ported by Geoff G. or the Really old version of the dodgy "enhanced" version of original MMBasic as ported by Olimex & others. Olimex has done another production run of them (Why?), but it is still based on the Mono Maximite Design (Not the Color Maximite). They can be flashed to Run ChipKit+ firmware and are then supported by the Arduino ChipKit PinGuino support but they are are a really old design now. My 3 are shoved in a box somewhere, don't use them at all.

Hmmm. interesting. I am wondering if this was a spam probe. I am seeing increasing amounts of spam offering all sorts of "enlargement" pills (and THEY don't work! ) but when looking at the body of the mail there are paragraphs of text that looks like it makes sense but doesn't show in the mail in outlook etc. just to beat the algorithms in the filters.

First post from that user also who never came back.

I have to kill off membership requests on a couple of sites I admin where it is clear the account was only a means to an end. evidently there are people being paid to create accounts and defeat a fairly involved "anti robot" form that asks the user to match a picture to some text, so they can offer to get me on the top of google searches for a fee.

Subtle -- but plausible. A push for Thunderbird? But why in the world here, and with what prospect of success? Some effort would have had to have been made to make the Maximite and CGMicro connection to give the post appropriate context.

I agree it is a bit of a long shot spamming this forum but forums are a target - I see it in a few others quite often.

Looking at the OP, it is quite a disjointed bit of text that confused quite a few here... the only thing that cautions me is the duinomite thing is in context... most forum spams (all I have seen?) don't have relevant text in the body.

Paul Lamer has purchased from CircuitGizmos, so I wouldn't think this is spam. A little searching in my emails (50 gig database) and I ended up on an email list that he is on. I think he is just very un-savvy with email and the internet.
