Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi guys

I am thinking about buying a Color MaxiMite as a gift, completely assembled from micromite.org. However, it does not seem to have a on/off-switch?

It should be no problem installing a switch myself, but it seems weird to not have it present, right?

Thanks!

I think it is a standard feature for all CMM's.

There should be a jumper in the power supply part you can replace with a switch if required. Mine has.

You may be able to specify a switch in your order to save you doing it.

I think Geoff thought most users would leave it on continuously when he designed it.

I must admit, an On Off switch would be handy at times particularly if you have both a separate power supply as well as a USB connection. I removed the USB 5V connection on mine.

Right above/behind the SD-Card-Socket there are two pins being bridged by a jumper, just install a switch instead.

On this pic you see it bridged by a piece of wire:

>>> "Power SW" <<<

For a Reset-Button you can switch "RES" from the Arduino-Pins to ground, probably a resistor inline to smooth it.
The Duinomite uses a 300 Ohm I think.

@Decoy

Adding a Power Switch is an option that can easily be implemented.

I have sent you a PM . . . .
