Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

For Some Reason I managed to post this in the Guest Forum.

Hi All,

I have a Backpack144 from WW that's been sitting here on the shelf for a while & looking at getting it up & running.

Don't seem to be finding relevant treads regards the board & a few I'm finding are giving 404 errors.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

I can power it up on USB & get a prompt but don't think the 7" display is backlighting.

It's alive & I get this from the console.

OPTION CPU 252
OPTION COLOURCODE ON
OPTION DISPLAY 24, 53
OPTION LCDPANEL VGAOPTION KEYBOARD US
OPTION SDCARD 93, 94
OPTION LCDPANEL CONSOLE
OPTION HEARTBEAT ON

Thanks

Phil.

Edit:-

It's a Red PCB & Version 1.1 & the above are probably WW's shipped settings.

Phil,

For the 7" display, you need the following options set

OPTION LCDPANEL SSD1963_7A_16,RL,,142

... now do a GUI TEST LCDPANEL  and there should be circles galore.

Now for touch

OPTION TOUCH 118,121,103

... then GUI CALIBRATE

You might also like to set up the RTC

OPTION RTC 15,16

The MMX Manual has pin descriptions.  If you need a schematic and/or a diagram of the GPIO pinout, PM me with an email and I will send to you.

If you have set the links on the back of the display to use PWM then -

At the Command Prompt enter BACKLIGHT nn (nn being a decimal value between
0 and 100). This command must be re issued each time you reset the board by
any means.
Include this command at least at the start of your program.

This sets the backlight PWM signal.
Note that a value over 50 - 60 does nothing more than increase the current consumption with little difference in display brightness.

Quick reminder, you can Search using google with things like

site:www.thebackshed.com Backpack144

To just get things from a specified site.

You can use a longer URL and more of a search e.g.

site:www.thebackshed.com/forum something wanted

(you might also include a forum member's name if you're sure who posted)

Yes have employed most of those sorts of queries in various forms.

Catch is I'm finding a few that go to 404's.

I recall there was quite a lot of discussion back at build time, that's the main bit I'm struggling to get hits on.

Have the manual I downloaded at the time, but it doesn't specifically cover this board & it's revisions.
