Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have built an Explore 100 and loaded the hex file successfully with
pickit3 and MPLAB IPE

When i connect it to Tera term i can't get the opening banner, just a block cursor. Has any one got any suggestions please?

G'Day barrow

I am probably the last person to provide useful help but since all the other blokes are too lazy I will give it a go.
The only problem I have had with TT was when I clicked on something I should not have. A re-install fixed that.
Other than that your options are:
Re-install firmware
Try different cables / power supply
A hardware fault (shudder)
How confident are you that a couple of those pins are not shorted?
Are you experienced with these devices?
Good luck

Again, I'm not the best person to help but a little more information from you would help.

What version of E100 is it?
How are you powering the board? Try a different supply.
Do you have TeraTerm set up correctly? 38400baud,8,N,1
Is the comm port recognised by the PC and TeraTerm?
Are you using a CP2102 module? If so have you tried a loopback check by unplugging the module and shorting the Rx and Tx pins on the module. Anything you type in TeraTerm should be echoed the the screen.

As you have loaded the Hex file successfully there can't be too much wrong. Did you load just the MMBasic Hex file or the file for an application? If it was an application file - OPTION AUTORUN ON may be invoked, type ^C to stop the program.

Any more info you can supply may be helpful.
