This one is quite interesting. ![]() Sound Module. Only one buck each, and contains an MP3/WAV DAC chip, along with on-board SPI memory, A USB host to upload files, DAC L&R audio output, a busy line, a serial port, and an audio amplifier too! ![]() Plug it in, and it shows up as a 3MB(yes, 3-megabyte!) flash-drive, and you can copy files to it. I have copied a few simple audio files to it, but I cannot work out how to make it play anything, and Mr. Google replies with lots of links to coax connector specs if I search for 'JR6001 datasheet'.... Does anyone else have or know where I can get hold of some kind of datasheet for this chip? I have asked the seller, but they have yet to email me anything. Smoke makes things work. ayup Grogs. search back through the forum for DF Mini Player there was some code posted (just recently I think) - I am betting there is a degree of compatibility and maybe that will help? |

This is the specific product-page to the given datasheet: https://www.soundprompter.com/product/JR6001-USB-port-to-download-voice-mp3-sound-module.html ... probably they would answer some questions additionally!?!? ![]() Andre ... such a GURU?![]()

@ poppy: Danke! That is EXACTLY the datasheet I needed. Thank you very much for linking me to that pdf! @ CaptainBoing: No, the DF Player Mini uses the YX5300 SSOP chip. Not the same chip. @ CG: No, that is a different chip again. @ cosmic frog: Thanks for the link. That shows another version of it, so it is all useful information. ![]() Smoke makes things work. Ja das ist gut!!!! (Yes, this is good!) Danke! (Thank you) I only know a LITTLE Deutschland(German), but learning!!! Thanks again for your post. Rather like the JQ6500 chip I found via one of your links, as this one has push-button control, which is really what I was wanting. Link to push-button module... Grüße (Regards...) ![]() G. Correct! Just a minor mistake (or just a typing mistake?): "Deutschland" = Germany (country) "deutsch" = german (language) That´s great, I am also very glad about anything I can learn and improve for myself right around here "speaking" english! Just check up archive.org for "german" literature e.g.: https://archive.org/search.php?query=german%20dictionary Didn´t have the other as well by different resistors?! Unfortunately I did not have any time yet to spend on this myself though having some of those other modules (MP3-TF-16P) lying around ... already being covered by dust. Aber, sobald ich Zeit dafür finde ... (But as soon as I find some time for that ...) ![]() Andre ... such a GURU?![]()

From time to time the german language gets reformed to make it easier but it loses more and more any sophistication. When it was up to change from "ph" to "f" like "Delphin" to "Delfin" (= "Dolphin" to "Dolfin") I backed out. But what I really like to do in german and english language is checking up etymologies, sometimes they are quite parallel but sometimes depending on very different origins. The last really surprising word (I found here) was when Palcal (https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?TID=11664&PID=139696#139696#139696) wrote "My Laptop HDD went kaput" that inspired me to check up "kaput" for having a literal expression parallely in german "kaputt" and even the same sentence "Meine Laptop-Festplatte ging kaputt" ("ging" = "went", as simple past of "to go" = "gehen") ... both coming from french "faire capot" (= something like "overturning") ... and before I thought it was typical german. Any Language really makes fun! And I can imagine that Germany, being a weird kind of its own, can be very interesting ... our "rednecks" are called bavarians (those lederhosen- and dirndl-people), so if you check those out, you will have even more fun! ![]() Andre ... such a GURU?![]()

"Deutsch uber alles" (sorry about being umlaut-free) sounds not quite as threatening as "Deutschland", though I suspect the latter would have implied the former for many. Among other things, my experience with German in grad school makes me glad that didn't come about. But I was happy enough to have enough experience to have some idea of the structure, and glad for the feeling it gave to the etymology some English words and phrases. Thanks for the background on "kaput"--but it makes sense--something like "head over heals" (though different in meaning), or "a$$ over teacup"--if more final. And hats off to your command of English, which far exceeds mine of any other language. (Well, maybe only one hat if taken literally, though I guess figuratively I could be said to wear many hats.) Among other things, my experience with German in grad school makes me glad that didn't come about. I am not sure if WW2 ended differently our common language would have been german or japanese. But thanks to former british submission we both can easily talk. But I was happy enough to have enough experience to have some idea of the structure, and glad for the feeling it gave to the etymology some English words and phrases. I think all roman languages are quite similar because of their common origin and so it is easy to find comprehensive aspects. Currently I am also freshing up my latin skills and for some certain amount also some ancient greek, all just initiated by my attention to english and german language. For me this is real fun, just questioning the meaning of words ... And it is very interesting to me seeing differences right here between british, american and australian. Thanks for the background on "kaput"--but it makes sense--something like "head over heals" (though different in meaning), or "a$$ over teacup"--if more final. According to (german) etymology textbooks it literally means more something like "making a hood" referring to a sinking boat, flipping over ... so generally something being doomed. Thanks for that, I didn´t know before, there are also many english dictionaries about slang and idioms I collect, also very interesting for me. And hats off to your command of English, which far exceeds mine of any other language. (Well, maybe only one hat if taken literally, though I guess figuratively I could be said to wear many hats.) I wish I could do even more about that, I am just happy having had some good teachers and I professionally have to read so much english literature, but actually I am lacking active speaking experience. I am an excellent "passive speaker", directly understanding quite much. This always reminds me of former times when I improved my english in the beginning of learning it just by the way, by watching dutch television showing american series in the early 80´s, non-dubbed but having dutch subtitles, german and dutch are also linguistically close neighbours, so it was some kind of delta relation to me. I guess understanding does not really depend on language which is just some kind of "coding thoughts". So comparing to our technical stuff around here: if you like coding the language actually does not matter ... though I still prefer BASIC But I don´t want to bother you all, I am just happy to get new insights and aspects also to the spoken language here. ![]() Andre ... such a GURU?![]()
