Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Yes, I just watched that when my YT alert flashed up.

Another great piece of CMM2 exposure!

Props to the 8-bit guy for a nice review, given that it could take away some of the followers of his X16 project.

Although, I do agree with his view that there is a subtle difference between the projects.  The CMM2 achieves the fun / easy to use BASIC coding system, whereas his X16 caters for those more focussed on coding with a true retro 8-bit CPU and keen to explore machine code programming (as was the way back in the 80's).

So definately an overlapping market.   I suspect there will be many who want to own both.

That video shines a positive light on the CMM2 and will certainly help promote the product.

Mauro - your software got some amazing exposure there.

Well done guys - great stuff!

Yes, I think every project has its right to exist! What I really like about the new Maximite 2 is that I can exchange the Waveshare board if anything happens. I am really into the microcontroller kind of things, if anything bad happens I just replace the board - just perfect.

In the 8-bit Guy's video description, he links to another video about the CMM2 from another YT'er here....

Perhaps we should send one to Dave of EEVblog fame....
Only joking really.  Dave can be very critical if he does not like something, so it is probably not worth the risk.

Dave of EEVblog is very critical at electrical things. He will spot the DC voltage at the audio outputs, and make a big fuzz over it. Don't send him a unit.

No Chickendinner?

Actually this is no bad idea at all, but I would not do it, what for actually?
His EEVBlog is a very different issue in my opinion.

Have you been bitten? (had something of yours submitted and criticised)

Dave's thoughts on original Maximite were not very harsh. I think some valid constructive opinions when compared to current trends and younger generations.

Yeah watched it and decided to go ahead and order one. Can't wait to get it and start playing around.

Very interested in writing a simple Flight/Space sim and possibly a simple Ray Tracer...

One thing I gotta say (with no disrespect to TBS), is that they have created an awesome "all in one place" Commander X16 website.

Their website not only has all the information and documentation to download, but it also contains a dedicated community forum, as well as a categorised software download section.

The software downloads are nicely presented with screenshots, ratings and download counts, and inlcudes official software as well as community contributed software.
Also, sorted groupings for highest rated and most downloaded.

This has got to go a long way towards helping with platform popularity.

Has anyone thought of creating a similar centralised / all inclusive home for the CMM2 community?
