Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Following on from his original CMM2 review, The 8-Bit Guy's latest seemingly unrelated video "What does a computer mouse see?", also features the CMM2 being used in a very practical way. Taking advantage of the CMM2's abilities for general hardware hacking!

CMM2 content starts at 7:14

What does a computer mouse see? (7:14)

Awesome stuff, and more great exposure for the CMM2 in a real world use case as a useful hardware hackers platform, instead of the usual approach of wiring up an Arduino (together with an LCD display module etc).

Thanks for the heads up.

He was using SPI to talk to the sensor.  The CMM2 (and the Micromites) have a wide range of communication protocols built-in and that is a very useful feature.

The other day I experimenting with driving a clock movement that needed a one second pulse with a very specific pulse width - something that was so easy to do in a minute or two with the CMM2.
