A great share - grabbing the pdfs for "safe" keeping - the copyright license is very generous "adaptations" allowed for non commercial. Nim Entropy is not what it used to be |

Yes, kudos to Usbourne. I first learnt to write Text Adventures with their "Write Your Own Adventure Games For Your Microcomputer" title. They've been available there for download for a while, I just assumed people knew. Best wishes, Tom MMBasic for Linux, Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Nice find. I also made copies of the pdf's. Good memories about that time. If someone has it, I am still looking for a copy of the book that shows math and physics problems and their associated basic programs for solving or simulation. Saw it on a 8 bit guy video, and remember we had something like that at school (maybe not the same). Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Man, so many nostalgic stuff! It's difficult to obtain hard copies of these... Maybe I'll print some of them, and dive into nostalgia of typing in some BASIC programs. I can make them spiral bound which will simplifiy typing in a lot. |

Typing printed program listings is really old school. Try sending the PDF through an online pdf>doc conversion website, or scan the printed listing through OCR software. Paul in NY |

... and then debug the heck of misOCRed characters in a terse code. :) |

The "Numerical recipes" books have a lot of code and algorithms, mainly C, C++, fortran etc but I think there was a Basic version. etc |

There is (a BASIC version) and I just ordered a used copy for $14 US delivered. A good way to exercise the grey matter....if nothing else! Steve |

Darn it all! A fascinating reference like this gets posted and before I know it, half the morning is gone as I get lost down the rabbit hole. Visit Vegipete's *Mite Library for cool programs. |
