Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

This is more expensive than the wifi modules I've seen talked about on the forum, but I've just picked up one of these Wimodem units to use with a BBC Master and wondered if it's possible to interface to the CMM2.  It has separate power, so the concerns re: overloading the GPIO go away as far as I can tell.

I've picked up a DB25 to screw terminal adapter, could this be an option?  Take the end off a ribbon, screw into the adapter, off I go?

You'll need to either build the RS-232 interface circuit described in the user manual or use a chip like the MAX232 to convert the levels and signaling between TTL and RS-232. Jim's wifi modem is a great device but you can't just hook it up directly. That's why the NodeMCU modules work great, because they're natively TTL signaling and they can be powered from the 5v output of the GPIO and get plenty of power.

Thanks, it stays hooked into the Beeb then.
