Hi folks, Not really on topic but the denziens of TBS are the sort to have this kind of obsolete device sitting in a drawer. Happy to pay postage and beer money, you might get more selling it on eBay though. Best wishes, Tom Edited 2021-05-05 01:47 by thwill Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Hi Tom, Well you just had me ransacking my "drawer of safe-keeping" because I use these cards in some of my Guitar pedals and what I was looking for is an adapter that I bought to accept modern SD cards. I know I have it/them because I remember how impressed I was when I received them. I'll have a look at the shop tomorrow. Never had time to test but they are intended to substitute for a CF-1. Regards, Craig |

Thanks Craig, The NC-100 notepad I need this for has a reputation for being very finicky regarding its memory card so I'm not sure an adapter to a modern solution is going to work ... or at least it's probably not something that I'm going to bet real money on. I use the 1MB cards for Apple Newton in the NC-200c and NC-200. they work fine and are "kind of" easy to get |

Yes, I am aware of those cards and are the type I am looking for. I haven't found one easy to get though, are you making the mistake I often do of thinking something I did/got 10 years ago was recent Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

This is a Newton branded one, I think there were also 256K and 512K versions which might also suffice: Apparently a 2 MB one will work too, you just tie two of the pins together so it thinks it is 1 MB. It needs to be an older battery backed SRAM, I am given to understand (i.e. it may be codswallop) that the newer non-SRAM (?) types require some additional signal from the host device that the NC-100 (and -200) do not supply. That doesn't resemble the square devices that I am familiar with |

Sounds like you may have been thinking of Compact Flash (CF) cards? I believe this is an earlier technology. Best wishes, Tom Edited 2021-05-06 09:19 by thwill Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |
