Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Those pesky wires just keep getting smaller... Hmm. 2 nm is a few dozen atoms across. I live in hope of molecular electronics |

It's inconvenient when the molecules of solder are bigger than the whole chip... :( Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Dario Gil, the IBM research director, lives about 1/4 mile from my house. He and a few IBM fellows have been muttering about 2 nm land definition for the last few months. I figured there was something in the works. The IBM Fab managed now by Global Foundries is 4 miles from my house. Paul in NY |

"It does not make much difference what a person studies. All knowledge is related, and the man who studies anything, if he keeps at it, will become learned." -Hypatia It didn't take very long for relativity theory to become relevant in electronics engineering. In 2nm technology, quantum effects such as tunneling will be factor. Absolutely amazing that this is at all possible. Epsilon CMM2 projects |

Incredible ! When I worked in the semi industry, I thought we were doing well with 6" wafers and 200nm processes. Definitely not leading edge at the time I must admit, but this achievement is impressive. (I "retired" from semi's in 2009 - like many others - due to mass redundancies.) With regards, Paul. Nothing so constant as change. |
