Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Has anyone made or researched how to "talk to" Alexa?
I'd like to use an MM device to send opne of a couple of IR signals when told to by Alexa
I want to use it to voice control my airconditioning to turn on and off when needed.
Anyone?

it appears the easiest (?) method for interfacing to home-brew kit is to use an MQTT bridge.

google Alexa MQTT, lots of results
