hi peter, from the standard mint repositories, "libvtk7.1p" seems to not be available. there is, however, "libvtk7.1" (no "p" at the end) available. i've verified that mint is happy to download and install 7.1, but have not followed through with the installation yet. it looks like much newer versions are available from here: https://vtk.org/download/ is 7.1 (not 7.1p) what you are after? if so, i'll try installing it. cheers, rob :-) |

Thanks all I solved it by re-installing mint and then installing the problem application with the dependency on libvtk7.1p before I let mint update. Must be some sort of versioning dependency conflict Edited 2021-08-29 17:46 by matherp |

Obligatory humour: The p version is perforated, supposedly so that you can get it off the roll more easily without it tearing. Unfortunately, as some people using "other" rolls have discovered, the best way to reinforce a joint is to add perforations. Sorry, but at least it didn't feature four Yorkshiremen. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |
