Hello,
I've tried to configure ILI9488 display with my previous ILI9341 setup ( ILI9341 works great), but after GUI CALIBRATE, I touched first two targets with no problem and suddenly calibrate procedure stop with a message "Touch hardware failure".
Any solution for this problem?
GUI TEST LCDPANEL works.
Thank you.

Lots of people had similar problems with GUI CALIBRATE early on with the Picomite (but haven't heard of it lately). One of the solutions was to use a very light touch, trying repeatedly. On one occasion it took me about a dozen attempts to get it to work. After that it was fine.

Make sure that your ILI9488 has a touch controller on it. One ILI9341 thwarted me--I finally realized that it lacked the touch controller chip.

I think is not about the touch because it works just fine on the first two touch and stop.

If you have a record of typical calibration values for the ILI9488 try entering them manually rather than letting calibrate detect them.

MMBasic can tell that the touch controller is not working when it gets identical values from two different touch points.  That is why you get the error on the second calibration point.

Have you disconnected the MISO pin on the ILI9488?  To quote from the manual "For this display to work the MISO pin must not be connected."

If you don't do this the ILI9488 will interfere with communications to the touch controller and the SD card.

The values for the wrong display probably won't work unless it's the same resolution. You need someone with a working one.

That's a good point, Geoff. :)

But note matherp's recent test to determine that the ILI9488 will work with the MISO pin connected in series by a resistor to the shared MISO line.

I don't remember, but I think it was a 680R resistor. If you confirm this works for you, I believe you will be the first other than Peter to have confirmed it.

Lizby,
It works with 680ohm resistor, thank you.
Also I tried without the resistor, with your calibration values - doesn't work.

Thank you again.

Glad it works, and yay for the 680R resistor. What GUI CALIBRATE values did you get (shown with OPTION LIST)?
