Video is a GREAT salute to an old friend. The NE555 made it into so many projects back then. Quazee137 |

Yep - NE555, LM741. The world's greatest chips. :D I still have several 741 and 748 that I bought as a kid. I think I blew most of my 555 up, but they've been replaced over the years. The CMOS 555 is a weedy beast compared to the "proper" one. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Who needs a fancy H bridge when you have a 555 to run your inverter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG44ri6Fn3w One of the first things i ever maid was a delayed wind screen wiper controller using a 555 https://worldradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-AUSTRALIA/IDX/Archive-Electronics-Australia-IDX/IDX/70s/EA-1975-05-OCR-Page-0039.pdf |

+1 except it was before the 555 so it was done with a UJT timer triggering an SCR. |

I'll admit to it, I let the whole video play and even turned up the volume. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Yeah, I seem to recall "Finding" some 741's on ancient old PCB's from the 70's, and they were in round metal cans - but still with 8 pins. I seem to recall playing about with those, but not really getting any "Real" results - probably cos I would have only been about 12 at the time and not REALLY knowing what the hell I was doing with op-amps!!!! ![]() Smoke makes things work.
