Interesting that it lasted this long, before they FINALLY pulled the plug. No more Z80's... Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Excellent video. :) Me sad though. I've always been a Z80 fan. It's how I got into computing in the first place. Zilog even did a version with a built-in BASIC interpreter in ROM at one time. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

+1 my first CPU exposure was 8080/85 in a briefcase at college so a very easy jump to the Z80 when I got my ZX81from there to here... happy days - I have always considered myself someone who has made a decent living from his hobby ![]() "Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." - Confucius h |

![]() ![]() ![]() I ran down to the pub (from the factory) on Sunday because I wanted to watch the Hungarian GP. Guy in there lectures me on "living life" instead of working every day. His idea of this is pub & telly.....No thanks ![]() Some really good ones here |

Zilog only Made like 3 Billion of them. There is some guy in Malaysia making Z-80 clones in his Garage with Masks his cousin here in the USA stealing Jobs on an H1B Visa pulled out of the Trash! it will be OK Intel no longer makes 8008 or 8080 Chips but I can still buy BRAND NEW original 1980's Date coded Chips. Plus Intel still licenses 8080,80286,80386,80486 and support chip sets to Other Taiwan Fabs/ INDUSTRY Will Never allow the Z-80 Die, Look how long IBM has been Milking GMOS for the 701 and Cobol? I may be Vulgar, but , while I'm poor, I'm Industrious, Honest, and trustworthy! I Know my Place |

There are several cycle correct implementations of the Z80 on FPGA too. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

The Ti84 Plus graphics calculators are currently using the eZ80 processor, as is the Agon Light and Light 2 |

The eZ80 is quite impressive, 50MHz clock and 3x more efficient per cycle than the Z80, that is a 150MHz Z80. Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |
