Hi Jan, thanks for your advice. I found one in my Arduino module box. Will see, how to fix it - at least i have no housing yet, where it could not fit into. Also not yet connected - just waiting for the delivery of an UEXT connector. Regards, Christian ![]() |

Christian, Print mounted at the bottom with M2 nylon bushings with 2 holes and spacers between Olimex DS3231 and third hole for support. The two holes on Olimex print on the side without connector correspond approximately to DS3231 hence M2 bushings. Make sure that button cell at the bottom is accessible for replacement. The 4 wires directly soldered to the bottom Olimex 10-pin print connector pin 1,2,5,6. 1=3V3, 2=GND, 5=SCL=GP9, 6=SDA=GP8. The other 2 spacers next to the 10-pin Olimex connector are 18.7 mm (8+10mm) for me. Can be M2 or M3 bushings. The top 10-pin flat cable connector is therefore still usable and not affected by the DS3231 module. The 3 pins GP0 and GP1 and GND above next to USB can be used for an external UART COM1 with HDMI firmware. Now a template for the pin numbers and have used for Pico print pins with long pins and print connector sockets with long pins which work well. Greetings, Jan. |

Hi Xian, you just have to be a bit careful... a friend of mine was using such modules and the time offset was terrible and could not be compensated with the native DS3231 methods on any of the 5 modules. We suspect that the chips were fake or rejects. I gave him one of my modules which i bougth a lot earlier and that workes flawlessly. His modules went directly into the bin. A second problem may exist with your board if the battery used is a CR2032 (non-rechargable button cell !!!). There is a charging circuit comrised of the diode and the resistor (200 R) in the rigth upper corner of your foto. You should remove the diode, otherwise the battery will over time bulge and may burst. I found one shortly before bursting after 3 years of operation as i did not look for the charging circuit in the first place. The boom would not make much harm I think, but the chemistry could. There are rechargeable buton cells available in the CR2032 format, but the chinese did not deliver them .... just cheap CR2032 Gerald 73 de OE1HGA, Gerald |

@Xian: Hi Christian, I finally got the lasercut file. You'll have to find out for yourself how to put the puzzle together! ![]() OLIMEX-RP2040-pico-pc-case.svg.zip ![]() I glued the parts together with wood glue (Ponal) - it becomes transparent later and holds quite well. You could also disassemble the housing with water. I fixed the individual parts with elastic band while they were drying. I only clamped the lid. It holds quite well for me and can still be opened at any time. I glued the board in with double-sided adhesive tape - this has proved to be very effective. The rubber feet supplied fit into the four holes in the base plate... Have fun and good luck with it! Frank Edited 2025-04-10 16:48 by Frank N. Furter |

Hi Frank, thanks a lot - going to check if i can find someone in my RC model club with a CNC router/lasercutter to cut/laser it. Thanks again and CU in Nuremberg having a beer! Best regards, Christian |

Hi Gerald, seems that my rtc modules are quite ok. Checked it now for two days and do not see a more than some miliseconds of diviation. So lucky me :-) I have some rechargeable CR2032 for my Sharp Pocket computers and will try to use them on the Olimex adapter. Thanks for your hints! Best regards, Christian |

Hey Christian, what kind of Sharp Pocket Computer do you have? Sharp PC-E500/E500S, for example? Or is it the Sharp PC-E220? |

Hi Manfred (@ManiB), it's no only one. i own a PC-E500, the E200 is not in my collection. Also Pc-1600, Pc-1500(a), PC-1403, PC-1403H, PC-1261, PC-1251. Some of them since the 80s and 90s. I think we were in contact some time ago - i purchased a serial adapter on your site. Best Regards Christian |
