Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I just found this out. It seems that Amazon will no longer allow us to download our books to our PCs or Macs (in the case of us Linux users, they never did allow it - directly that is). Quite the PITA.
So you still have the better part of a week to get a "hard copy" to your hard drive. While you are at it, check out "Calibre" for saving and de-DRMing your books (both Kindle as well as books from Audible).
If you are a Linux user, either switch to a supported OS, or load them to your Kindle and then transfer them from your Kindle to your PC. I'll be doing both as I can't get all of my books loaded to my 2011 Gen 4 Kindle. :)
Going forward, I'll try to avoid buying books from Amazon. But that's probably not feasible.
But I suspect some 16 year old kid in Sweden will figure out the DRM and fix it for us. :)
