Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

This thing looks very interesting, as someone who already uses VNC remote-desktop.
But with this thing, you can even reinstall an entire OS right to BIOS access level - all remotely!  VERY CLEVER LITTLE DEVICE, and only US$70

Jet KVM...

Their kickstarter campaign goal was $50,000 - they currently have raised almost FIVE MILLION with 35,000 backers!

Kickstarter....

Ok,

This is the way to get hacked to the bone. Everything that requires access to the physical server park can now be done remotely by anyone wanting to do evil. Who guarantees there is no backdoor designed into this ?

I would grade this as a most dangerous device.

Having said that, it is nice, and I want one of those hobby boxes for a NOT mission critical system.

That's an interesting point.

There are a plethora of videos all over the likes of YouTube extolling the great features and usefulness of this device, but even in the comments, I have not seen anyone question how easy it would be to use this thing to hack....well....basically ANY machine you can physically connect it to.

Server rooms are pretty secure physically, so fitting one of these to any commercial server machine would require access to the server room, but people have managed that before - even those with security clearance who go rogue, so to speak...

Beautiful little thing for those of us who would wish to use it as intended, but in the hands of hackers.....yeah, I certainly see your point.
