Hello all, I have a new question. It seems that the Serial to USB driver I have installed a while ago (on my windows11 laptop) is not optimal for the picomite (as it offers a max speed of 115K baud), so I would like to remove it. I spent a lot of time on google and found various tools to remove the driver (it is a CH341 driver), but I cannot as non of those tools work. One seems to remove it, but the moment I plug the Picomite in, the ch341 driver is back. I also tried to download the correct driver - to simply replace the CH341 one, but Microsoft says its in windows and does not offer a download. I tried Zadig - did not work either Any suggestions please? How can I get rid off the CH341 driver (as I guess I should get more than 115200 baud). Or is 115200 typically sufficient? Thank you! "is 115200 typically sufficient?" Yes, typically. It has been pushed several multiples higher, but the use case need for that is rare. PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

I usually use the good old device manager device manager -> COM ports -> right click on the COMx: you want to remove -> deinstall device and click on "try to remove the driver". The text above may appear a bit different on your installation as I'm using a german windows version and have no english installation at hand. Should work, just tried it, now I have to reinstall the driver again .... 73 de OE1HGA, Gerald |

I'm surprised that the driver is limited to that speed. The CH341 is capable of going much faster. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |
