I bought the Pico/2 computer kit from Silicon Chip mag. Thanks to all involved in creating this good thing.
Then I looked at the recommended case, the Multicomp MCRM2015S from Element14. With freight they want over AU$40!
That was enough excuse for me to spend Saturday evening with my favourite 3D design tool and printer (I know, I have no life, or maybe I do?).

It includes PCB standoffs. The lid push-snaps on, and you remove it easily with a pry tool/blade. The port label text is inlaid in the lid. Printed without support and all the port cut outs came out OK.

I'm happy with the result. If anyone wants the 3D print files, you can grab them over at Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7047587

very pretty. I am seeing a lot more "inlaid" legends, two-colour printing - it really looks good, well done

Multicomp is a trade distributor who inflate the price a bit (sometimes a lot). The actual box is more commonly available as Hammond RM2015S. It's available from all the big electronic distributors and a lot of the smaller ones under that part number.

There are two other versions of this box, RM2015M and RM2015L which are the same footprint and PCB size but are taller.

That's a very nice 3D print indeed! Excellent job.

Ok may aswell get this thread active again and attached is the modified STL files for the PICO 3

the box was widened 3mm and the slots modified to suit the wider in/out connector and the slot for the HDMI moved to suit.

As I don't currently have a STL reader could a member who has please take a look as I did get Claude to do the modification.

Box dimensions have changed from 108x94x31 mm to 111x94.2x31 mm. Connector slots have changed as well. Claude seem to do well as draftsman ...

Yes Ville that was my suggestion as the in/out connector is right on the edge of the board, it take some time to get this done and I measured the same multiple time before Claude was happy

also the offer from Claude was if anything is wrong present the STL file again and it will fix it.

Now Claude basically rewrote the whole file as it reported a few errors along the way which it fixed.

I have emailed off the zip file to Sam so hopefully he can get on and get his 3D printer going.

At this rate I may to finally get a 3D printer myself as with Claude writing/drawing 3D objects is in the past when I can ask Claude and give it the measurements.

IE: Claude I want a box 110x98x25mm with the same lid as the pico 3

then print out the object.

Slicing went ok with Bambo Studio for a P1S (upgraded P1P) printer. So Claude did his job well. Some bonus points for the next appraisal talk with him ...
