Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

These are on sale here [Coles special] at $25...that less than the cost of the same size LCD screen.

Retro Gamer

The blurb says 2.8 inch screen, 256 games, TV screen use. Looks very similar  ..

These gaming devices have been available for 5-8 years, and typically contain unlicensed clones of NES games. No licensed Nintendo game is on the device.

Yo Ho Ho and a bucket of pixels!
Some of these cheap Chinese game machines are actually stripped down linux boxes, I think. running one or more emulators (that may or may not be open source) and loads of blatantly pirated games.

They are generally pretty dire and not all the supplied games will actually run!

You get a better quality of buccaneers for not much more with the R36S and that (at least in theory) will run MMB4L too.

F'nuff, I didn't look at the AU$.

It's highly unlikely the device linked by the OP is a stripped down Linux box though, it is almost certainly an older "NES on a chip" design.

Best wishes,

Tom

I just looked on AE for one that looked the same. I didn't convert the price or look any deeper. Yep, NES on a chip is likely. The multi-emulator types seem to be more likely to be linux-based.
