Hello all,

after some super long wait and a temporarily lost parcel, I have finally received today my super new Maximite 2 from New Zealand. It looks amazing!

Connected my Logitech K400 plus - works too!

Nice!

So, first thing first, update to 6.00.00.b2

Update went well - the Maximite greets me with 6.00.00.b2

But... the keyboard does not work any more at all.

And - my other keyboards do not work either...

I will try to revert to the older version to see what happens.

And 5.07.01 -> keyboard works no issues.

I will try one more time to be 100% sure

And it again does not work at all with 6.00.00.b2

Any ideas what I can do to make this work? It would be great to use 6.00 but without a keyboard its not very easy.

Thank you so much

I am assuming you mean a CMM2. Is there something else called a maximite 2 that I'm not aware of.  Can You clarify and give a link to the newest version?

I have similar problems. How do you power your CMM2G2V2. After using a PowerBank I have less problems with recognizing my USB PS/2 keyboard.

I use a 5v 5a adapter. The issue is that it works 100% with the older software and it does not work at all with the newer. So for me this is almost certainly a software issue. I can experiment with different power supplies (have not done yet) but i do not have big hopes. Will try and report for sure

Ahh, I see. I had powered my CMM2 with a USB cable from the Windows PC. That's when I noticed the problem. When I use a PowerBank or a 5V power adapter, the problem only occurs sporadically. And when the problem does occur, a reset is usually enough to solve it.

But I can also confirm that this problem does not occur with the 5.07.01 release version.

Here my current option settings:
> option list
CURRENT VGA mode 800x600 RGB332
CURRENT DISPLAY 50,100
OPTION USBKEYBOARD DE
OPTION KEYBOARD REPEAT 250,25

I never checked the options as the keyboard does not work at all with the new firmware. And it works well with the old one. In both cases factory fresh options

OK, now can someone give me a link to the 6.00 version?  I see that 6.00 has keybard issues.  What exactly is that?

Do you have a link to the newest version of the software? It's not available at Rictech

I think CMM2 6.00.00.b2 is the newest and also a beta not full release.

this is where I got it from.

It seems to have some issues unfortunately.

And, reading the thread, it seems I am not the only one with keyboard issues.

If you are getting beta firmware from that thread make sure you get the last one at the end of the thread. See FotS CMM2 page for links to another update.

Hhhmmm. I cam on here to point out that my 6.00.00.b2 install was working fine.

But, I booted it up (for the first time since April) and lo and behold the keyboard didn't work. I rebooted and the keyboard worked. I rebooted eight more times - resulting in it working 6 times and not working 4 times.

To be clear, when I tested this back in April, I probably didn't reboot. So I guess I got lucky. I was more concentrating on the fact that the screen corruption I was experiencing had vanished (which it has)

Update: I've tried various power supplies (in case that was the issue), and it didn't fix it.

I tried three different keyboards. The random "keyboard not working" event appears to happen more frequently with the one keyboard with LED lights in - but that could be coincidence. It does still happen randomly with all three keyboards.

Thank you all for testing this. For me the keyboards i have tried never worked with v6 beta. Did many resets and reboots. And they work with zero problem with the original firmware...

Maybe try the noLED set to 1 option to see if it has anything to do with setting the LEDs on the keyboard. It says the setting is remember across a firmware upgrade.

OPTION USBKEYBOARD nn[,noLED]

Set the language type for the attached USB keyboard. ‘nn is a two
character code defining the keyboard layout. The choices are US for
the standard keyboard layout in the USA, Australia and New Zealand
and UK for the United Kingdom, DE for Germany, FR for France and
ES for Spain.
The optional noLED parameter can be set to 1 to block sending the
command to the keyboard that lights the LEDs relating to Caps Lock
etc. This may be needed on some keyboards which do not process this
command properly and may lock up. It defaults to 0 if not specified
(i.e. the LED commands are sent).
This command can only be run from the command line and will cause a
reboot of the CMM2.
This setting is remembered even after a firmware upgrade.

As another data-point, since updating to 6.00.00b2 my DELL SK-8115 no-frills USB keyboard only works first-time about 50% of the time. It almost always starts working after I reset the CMM2 though.

Best wishes,

This was a very good suggestion - thank you   . However, unfortunately it didn't appear to make a difference.
