Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Lately when using CHROME I get this error.....

seek.searchthatweb.com sent an invalid response.

Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seemed to work but now it is back to the same problem.

It's called "lousy server programming". :-)

Try Brave instead of Chrome. It has a bit less telemetry back to Google, I think...

Try Vivaldi for browsing. It also has an android version. You can also transfer links via their server for your other machines using it. There is no tracking and it features inbuilt ad blocking. It also can use chrome extensions. This along with duckduckgo search engine gives me a smooth trouble free browsing experience.

@morgs67,  Thanks for that, I'm now using Brave and so far so good.

Palcal I've always stayed with firefox mate as I have found it's always been stable on linux and windows   Every few months I save my bookmarks to html then I can just update firefox on all my computers. I also make a notebook file with the passwords for each site which over the years has been a savoir on websites and forums etc.

I have Brave on my phone too. :)
I rather like Vivaldi too and I have that as a second desktop browser.

One I tried a while ago is un-Googled Chrome. That's interesting. Someone has stripped out everything that calls home or makes it dependent on Google. You are in charge of keeping it updated yourself though as there's no auto update on it.
