Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I can't attach a .ZIP file (That is 9 MB) to a New Topic Post.   Am I doing something wrong?   It seems I can upload a picture of the failure.   I just can't upload the actual .ZIP file that I want to upload.

I know it says 10meg but maybe that's after it's encoded (probably to base64 which would be lots bigger).

Can't you shrink it to a lot smaller than 9?

No, I can't really shrink the size of what I'm trying to post.

The post I was trying to make is here:  MMDebug beta release

I did break the files in the .ZIP file into two separate .ZIP files, and that seemed to work.  It isn't as convenient for the user, but it will get the files to them.

Use Dropbox or something like that, then provide a link to it.

9 megs is awfully big. The upload limits I can change, but its the storage and backups that becomes a problem. For the occasional file its ok, but if I get lot of large files uploaded, it can be a problem.

This weekend I'll have a look at how much space is available on this server, and I may be able to increase that limit, no promises. I think toml_12953's suggestion is good, an external file storage ant then provide a link. Services like Google and Dropbox do have free tiers and will let you share a file.

Yes, in general there is no reason to post something that big.   But I'm trying to post all 12 versions of the PicoMite firmware with the Debugger I did.    It wasn't a frivolous upload.     And my guess is, later in that thread there may be some updates.

One thing that would help is if I could edit the original post and replace the firmware files with an update.    That would be a way to keep the total size at a much smaller number.

I'd split the documentation from the files if I were you. You can update them separately then. You don't always want to touch the docs. Demo files can go with them too.
