Hello Peter,

I am having problems with my Microsoft USB keyboard ‘Wired Keyboard 200’ on my CMM2 G2 with version 5.07.02b11. I could only make entries after resetting or restarting several times.
As there were also issues with music playback in the game Knightmare by Leonicolas, I updated to CMM2V6.00.00b5. ( https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?TID=16416&P=11#246923 )
I assumed this would solve the issues. Unfortunately, this was not the case and now the keyboard no longer works at all.
I therefore reverted to Colour Maximite 2 firmware V5.07.01.
The keyboard now works again, but the error message in the game (‘Error in Music.inc line 67: A hard error occurred in the Low Level Disk I/O Layer").

Another question   : It seems that only the upper USB port is working. I had an Xbox controller connected to the lower one via a USB cable. Now, the mouse doesn't work there either. Could that be the case, and do you have any advice on how I can get the port/mouse working again? When I connect the mouse to the top port, its LED lights up.

Thanks in advance.

You should raise CMM2 issues on this thread because Gerry (disco4now) is looking after the firmware now. The top port is only for a PS2 compatible mouse - it is not a USB port. I suggest removing the battery with the machine powered off and waiting for a minute then restarting to completely reset the device. 6.00.00b5 should be more compatible with USB keyboards than anything else but Gerry can better advise on this.

top port is usb-keyboard,
bottom port is ps2-mouse.

you are right, it is not a usb-port, my experiment with the Xbox controller was therefore pointless. The mouse is working again; with all the flashing back and forth, I forgot about the "OPTION mouse 0".

However, the problem with the new beta and the keyboard still persists, as does the problem with MOD playback in the game.
