Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

As people on here will know, I have an aversion to the Arduino IDE; it brings on a deep sense of hate and loathing and is no longer allowed to pollute my PC. This has caused problems when attempting to do almost anything with the CYD (Cheap Yellow Display modules for those visiting from a different galaxy) as just about all the "help" assumes that you are using, and are reasonably skilled with, the Arduino stuff - even though it uses a ESP32, which bears no resemblance to any chip used by the Arduino.

Annexe RDS to the rescue! I've finally been able to install it and am now playing with GUI buttons and stuff on it. For those interested, the CYD I'm using is the "ESP32-2432S028", currently available on AE for less than £10. Setup turned out to be relatively painless, unlike Annexe RDS which still confuses me. (For some obscure reason I expect PRINT to print something to somewhere where I can see it, but I think it sends to the default serial port, which isn't seen by the CYD or echoed to the Output page. I dunno...).

At least these two CYDs are now saved from being disposed of as electronic waste. :)

use wlog instead of print. print only prints to the console port (serial over USB).

If you are interested I've got MMBasic running on a cheapish blackboard (Freenove esp32-s3). Should work on CYDs pretty well.
