Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I wonder if it would be possible to run the motion planner independent of the stepper
engine?

The idea is to be able to use the same G-code interpreter and motion planner to simply
provide X-vector, Y-vector, Z-vector, A-vector values that automagically appear/update
in BASIC so that they can be processed by PIDs.

Industrial CNCs (Siemens, Fanuc) update their vectors at a selectable rate of 125Hz or 250Hz.
The PID takes care of the rest.
