My ISP says it's not a problem with my connection or at their end. :(

I have both at present, though last night the internet dropped out completely here.
The modem LEDs indicated indicated DSL and internet were still on but could not access any sites. Something odd going on...

It won't ping - all packets lost.
A tracert gets as far as Sydney and gets lost shortly after.
