The next version of the CMM2 V7.00.00 firmware will include a program loader. This will allow external programs to run on the CMM2 from the Basic command prompt. So far I have a full implementation of: Micropython, fully working with video, sound and peripheral support Doom  and ScummVM running.  ScummVM is so far tested with Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Sam and Max Hit the Road. To run, for example, Doom I just type RUN "A:/doom/doom.app" and when I exit I'm straight back to the Basic command prompt - magic  I will ship the various apps but can't ship the game files for the ScummVM adventure games but if you have them already or buy your favourites from GOG.com then they should run. See https://www.scummvm.org/ for lots more information and advice on tested games. Frame rates on Doom and the ScummVM games are stunning. |

I've sold four CMM2's in the last week or so. I guess I had better order some more then! CMM2 popularity looks like it might start picking up again with this new FW release. It WAS doing VERY well, up until COVID hit the world and the ST chip became impossible to obtain. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
