Hi guys, Just a question: It is possible to use any USB-to-Serial adapter for a PICAXE08M or it works only with his own? Hobbit name: Togo Toadfoot of Frogmorton Elvish name: Mablung Miriel Beyound Arduino Lang |

Hi Toga Toadfoot ![]() Some work OK, some dont. One I bought from Jaycar Electronics didn't work, but another I got from Pete did. They are packed away so cant tell you the make or model. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Nice cheap solution for those than can etch their own PCB, and possibly already have a suitable PIC in the parts bin. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

It's hard to beat the flexibility of the Bus Pirate Bus Pirate The BusPirate v3 is a universal bus interface that talks to electronics from a PC serial terminal. Get to know a chip without writing code. Eliminates a ton of early prototyping effort with new or unknown chips. Protocols: 1-Wire, I2C, SPI, JTAG, asynchronous serial (UART), MIDI, PC keyboard, HD44780 LCDs, and generic 2- and 3-wire libraries for custom protocols. |

For a vanilla rs232-usb link, I have found Microchips MCP2200 ic works ok, there is an example usb-serial adapter on their web pages. Very inexpensive too ![]() |
