My ColorMax is working great stand alone,
but since I have (room for), and only one
monitor, I'd like to run it from my PC
via USB. The MMIDE utility shows a blank
screen when I select the ColorMax. I think
(as usual) I'm missing something simple.
TIA for some direction ........ :)

Hi hitsware,

Have you selected the correct Port from the drop-down box at the top of the MMIDE screen. This must be done each time you start MMIDE before you can talk to it. It normally starts with a blank screen after that, but if you hit return it should display the prompt.

Also MMIDE currently has a bug in the XMODEM transfer protocol so it may be easier to download TerraTerm (a free USB terminal emulator) and use that as suggested on Geoff Graham's website. If you do use TerraTerm read Geoff's comments on it's use before you start. There are a couple of settings that must be set to use it with the Maximite family.

There is certainly a bug in MMIDE3 in XMODEM. It has been elusive. No code difference from earlier MMIDE and yet the problem is still there. So no transfer to/from Maximite A: and B: drives.

But the rest of MMIDE is usable. The button that transfers a file directly to the Maximite RAM works.Edited by CircuitGizmos 2012-12-11

So if I get TeraTerm I use it instead of MMIDE ?
Or someways along with it ?

TT would let you do XMODEM if you needed to do that. Transfer a file to/from the Maximite's A:/B: drives. Also good for the VT100 that the Maximite uses in edit mode. Two places that are lacking in MMIDE3.

Thanks ! Got it !
Easy with XP ...... A little awkward with Win8
(the install only...works fine)
For my purposes (audio out) a version without
video, SD, 12V in, etc. would be cool. (in this mode)
Just the usb pwr and link and a bunch of pwm
(both frequency and duty cycle programmable)
channels ........ Beats the hell out of a Stamp !

Using your MMIDE :

If I write a routine it runs fine.
If I try to edit it, it seems to work,
but running doesn't reflect the changes
and listing doesn't show the changes.
This is with both Win8 and XP and a ColorMax
and a DuinoMite.
Everything works fine in standalone (no MMIDE)
mode......

MMIDE doesn't support the VT100 escape sequences needed for editing.

Geez ....... I thought that was the whole idea.
Guess I'll have to invest in a small monitor
and keyboard.
