My Colour Maximite when powered up is in bootload mode, power light flashing, if I reload the hex file it comes back to normal, but next time I power up I have the same problem. I have to re-install hex file everytime I turn it on. How do I fix this?

Regards

Brian

The bootload line that goes to the processor - processor pin 73 - should be at 3.3V for normal operation and 0V for bootload operation.

On the CGCOLORMAX1 I used an external resistor (10k) to make sure that this pin is pulled high (to 3.3V).

My first guess is a leaky 'load firmware' push button.

If so, the external 10k resistor as used by CircuitGizmos would probably help.

It may also be something to do with power supply rails slow to stabilize.
What happens if you do a quick power off then on again without going through the reprogramming?

I found that cycling the power it eventually came good. Connected a 10k resistor as suggested and all working OK again.

Thanks everyone for your help
