Yeah i have noticed them too.
We will have to be smarter and better to compete.
But that is not a bad thing. :)

Also checkout microduino. http://www.microduino.cc/
Those guys are i think unbeatable in price, but they have choosen the arduino platform.
So there is still room for modules especially the mcu ones that are based on other types.
Microblocks. Build with logic.
