Hi all,
I have a nice BT keyboard which I want to use with the Maximite.
As it`s impossible to connect it through th PS/2 port I want to use one of the serial ports with the command CONSOLE (and it`s parameters).
For this I bought a BT2RS232-module (HC-05).
For configuration I used an RS232 - USB module with a PL-2303 chip.
When everything was connected I didn`t receive any response in the terminal window when sending a command.
To cut a long story short the BT-module has a series resistor with 1 k in the TX-line which obviously prevents the UART to detect any level change on TX.
Reducing the resistor to 500 ohm did the trick and all was as expected.
No such problem with an FT232 chip UART!
I then configured the BT-module to Master an further until pairing it with the keyboard.
Until here everything responded as expected but when sending the ¨LINK¨command the response was always ¨FAIL¨.
I`m somewhat at a loss what to do.
Therefore these questions:
- is there a time limit between sending the PAIR and the LINK command?
- must the master be set to accept a distinctive device class?
- if yes what is the one for a BT keyboard?
- does the HC-05 module accept keyboards at all?
